Write to doomready@humenhuk.com with a question, a problem or an idea. Tell us which device you're using and what happened.
Answer the five setup questions, then tap the "Next" button on the Ready tab. It always points to the step that adds the most to your readiness score, so following it is the quickest way up. If you only do one thing today, read the first-hour steps.
Every amount comes from your household, which you can change in DoomReady's Settings. Water is about one gallon per person a day, the amount Ready.gov recommends, plus about a liter a day for each pet. Food, pet food, baby supplies and medicines are counted in days, so the 3-day kit needs three days' worth and the 14-day plan needs fourteen. Dust masks are two per person, flashlights one for every two people, power banks one per adult and toilet paper one roll per person every four days. Pet food, baby supplies and medicines only appear if you have pets or chose those needs. Change any of this and every amount changes with it. Settings also switches between gallons and liters. The plan doesn't allow for hot weather, illness or nursing, so add more water if any of those apply to you.
Everything you'd need in an emergency does. The first-hour steps, your supplies, the family plan, shelter mode, the guide and Ask DoomReady are all on your device and open with no connection, and Pro keeps working offline too. The zones on the map are worked out on your device as well, but the street map underneath comes from Apple Maps and needs a connection to load. Buying or restoring Pro and sharing the family plan also need a connection.
Sharing uses iCloud and is part of Pro. Open "Family plan" on the Ready tab and tap "Share with family". iCloud's own sharing screen opens, and you invite people from there. Each person needs DoomReady on their device and to be signed in to iCloud, but they don't need Pro to see the plan. Once they accept, you all see and edit the same plan. A change made on one device reaches the others the next time they open DoomReady with a connection. Only what's in the family plan is shared, which is names, jobs, places, phone numbers and any notes you add. The needs you chose in Settings, such as daily medicines, are never shared.
If you shared it, open "Family plan" and tap "Shared with family". iCloud's sharing screen opens again, where you can remove one person or stop sharing with everyone. If someone else shared the plan with you, ask them to remove you there. "Delete all data" in Settings also stops sharing a plan you started and deletes its copy from iCloud.
The zones are rough estimates for planning, scaled from published reference figures. Blast distances come from the US Office of Technology Assessment's report The Effects of Nuclear War (1979) and scale with the cube root of the weapon's size. Burns come from the same report, and the fireball from Glasstone and Dolan's The Effects of Nuclear Weapons (1977). Fallout is drawn only for a ground burst, as an illustration, because real fallout follows the weather on the day. Your home is the center of the city you chose. To use your exact location instead, tap the scenario button under the map, then "Set home to where I am now". The info button at the top of the map shows the method and sources in the app. No map can tell you what would really happen, so follow official instructions where you are.
Written answers come from Apple's on-device model, which needs Apple Intelligence. If your device can't run Apple Intelligence, or it's turned off, or it's still getting ready after you turned it on, Ask DoomReady shows the guide passages that best match your question instead, with links to the full articles. On a device that supports it, turn on Apple Intelligence in your device's Settings to get written answers. Either way, nothing you ask leaves your device.
Expiry reminders and the monthly check-in are part of Pro, and they're off until you turn them on under Reminders in DoomReady's Settings. Expiry reminders come 30 days before a date you've entered and again on the day, at 10 AM. The check-in comes at 10 AM on the 1st of each month. If notifications are off for DoomReady, Settings shows "Allow notifications in Settings" so you can turn them back on. These are the only notifications DoomReady sends.
No. DoomReady never sends alerts about attacks or threats, and it isn't an emergency alert service. Keep your phone's emergency alerts on so official warnings reach you. On iPhone they're in Settings, then Notifications, then Emergency Alerts.
No. Your plan stays on the device where you made it, and it's included in that device's backups, so restoring a backup brings it back. A family plan you share is the exception. It comes through iCloud to everyone in the plan, on each of their devices, yours included.
Open Settings in DoomReady and tap "Restore purchases", which checks the Apple Account you're signed in with. Pro bought by someone in your Family Sharing group works for you too, and "Restore purchases" brings it in if it hasn't appeared yet.
Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select DoomReady Pro to manage or cancel it. You can also tap "Manage subscription" in DoomReady's Settings, which opens the same place. Lifetime access is a single payment, so there's nothing to cancel. When a subscription ends, nothing you entered is deleted and the free parts keep working. Your family plan and your own items stay readable, and so do the amounts and dates in your 3-day kit. Editing what you added with Pro needs Pro again, and expiry reminders and the monthly check-in stop.
In DoomReady, open Settings and tap "Delete all data", then "Delete everything". It removes your household, supplies, shelter spot and family plan from this device and starts setup again. If you shared the family plan, it also deletes the shared copy from iCloud and your family loses access, so do it while you're online. It doesn't cancel a subscription. Read the confirmation before continuing. Deletion cannot be undone.
